Imiating the shape of the section of a tree resting on the ground, this work is dazzling by its uncanny quality and its playful mixture of abstract and figurative elements. While the shape looks recognizable, Beate Kuhn chose to use various shades of bright blue to paint over parts of the main structure. This piece exemplifies the direct influence of nature on Beate Kuhn's work on ceramics.
