This monumental cachepot is distinguished by two flamboyant sculptural wings and a luster glaze that is predominantly cream, dappled and streaked with splashes of blue, purple, green and gold. Depending on the lighting, the colors change dramatically. In this image, it is clear that the wings are stylized handles that allude to Hispano-Moresque forms such as the Alhambra Vase.
Marked Clement Massier, Golfe Juan, (AM). AM is for the region Alpes Maritimes.
