Kuhn produced this sculpture in her own workshop that she opened in 1957 in Düdelsheim. She specialized in the production of decorative ceramics, often using one single basic element that she repeated in a serial fashion. This particular sculpture follows this model and features a series of seven elements evoking the shape of glass bottles, grouped together to form one piece. The use of iridescent green glaze applied on a stoneware foundation reinforces the brightness and glass-like quality of the sculpture. The title and shape of the sculpture hint at the decorative nature of the piece. Marked on bottom with workshop marking: Spiral (blind stamp).
