Marks: Incised artist's monogram, 1900, R. Four angular buttress-handles join the body to the neck of this beautiful pot. The zig-zag negative space created by their interiors and the concentric rings around the pot’s waist resemble middle-eastern architectural elements. Meanwhile, boosted by changes in natural or artificial lighting, the etched luster glaze displays leafy clusters of mistletoe that appear to be in the clutches of four jagged claws.
