This vase is composed of a round, corrugated body that fittingly resembles a gourd. Lines of white highlight raised vertical ribs that have been superimposed over a red ground dotted with spots of blue. The Covered Gourd vase has been topped with a silver lid shaped into the form of a large, rounded leaf, completing the illusion of natural form conveyed through sculpture.
Mark: Impressed grenade.
