With its twisting body, ovoid cartouches, and hexagonal rim, this extraordinary vase amply demonstrates the dynamism of Dalpayrat’s vessel forms, which combine geometric and organic asymmetry. Decorated with a rich rouge Dalpayrat and lustrous brown shading, the surface captures the wide range of color this master potter conjured from copper oxide glazes. Marks: Impressed Dalpayrat, Les Grands Feux de Dalpayrat.
