An example of lead-glazed slipware by Max Laeuger, this vibrantly colored vase depicts long-stemmed orange flowers in low relief against a background of bubbly green and inky black. Laeuger was well-known for incorporating similar decorations and motifs in the 1890s. Most of his ceramics were produced at the workshop of J. Armbruster in Kandern.

Marks: Stamped artist's cipher, MKL, GESETZL. GESCHZT, inscribed 72, H, Maison Moderne paper label on base.
