Emile Belet for Sèvres. Distinguished by a scene that depicts the majesty of nature, this vessel reflects the influence of delicate Japanese ornamentation. A great plumed bird, its golden wings aflutter, appears to have just landed on a high branch of pine tree. the bird’s features are carefully delineated, as are the elements of the pine cones. Applications of glaze have produced the appearance of clouds in the sky. Marks: painted artist's initials 09 / stamped manufacturer's cipher / RF Manufacture Decore a Sèvres, 1909.
