A fine example of Lenoble’s Art Deco style, this bowl features rounded sides rising directly to the rim, a low foot, and carved chevrons decoration with Shino-style snakeskin glaze around the rim and brown glaze in the chevron’s interstices. Influenced by Japanese and other Asian sources, Lenoble developed a trademark style of carved geometric decoration, usually glazed in contrasting enamels.
