Jason Jacques Gallery is pleased to participate in the fifth edition of Frieze Masters, an international art fair taking place in London. Frieze Masters brings together several thousand years of art in a unique, contemporary context. With over 130 of the world’s leading art galleries specializing in antiquities, Asian art, medieval, pre-Modern and Modern art, Frieze Masters remains an important international event in the art world bringing tens of thousands of visitors each year.

Jason Jacques Gallery will present a number of the finest works from its Art Nouveau collection, which includes exceptional ceramic works by Alexandre Bigot, Galileo Chini, Ernest Chaplet, Paul Dachsel, Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat, Lucien Levy-Dhurmer, Clement Massier, Eduard Stellmacher, and the Amphora manufacture. Rare hammered copper wares by Alfred Daguet and an ox bone bench by contemporary designer Rick Owens will also be on view. Animals and imaginary creatures such as dragons, fish, frogs, panthers, and reptiles are the common figurative motif that unites these remarkable pieces.

The Frieze Masters art fair will take place from October 6 to October 9, 2016, with a Preview Day on October 5.

The fair will be held on the northeast corner of The Regent’s Park, across the London Zoo. You will find Jason Jacques Gallery at Booth G5.

Rick Owens (b. 1961) began his fashion label in Los Angeles in 1994. Moving to France in 2002, he has been showing sculptural ready-to-wear for men and women on the Paris runway ever since. Known for an anti-conventional aesthetic, his shows have gained recognition for breaking conventions of race, gender, body size and runway show format. He is a recipient of the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s Emerging Talent Award, the Cooper-Hewitt’s National Design Award and the Fashion Group International’s Rule Breaking Award. Since 2006 he has been presenting a collection of monolithic furniture produced in collaboration with his life partner, artist Michele Lamy.
