Oil on board. Study for "Tryptique pour un boudoir," exhibited at the 1937 Exposition International de Paris. Acquired from the Jean Mayodon atelier in 2004. This study is one of the few large-scale paintings by Mayodon known to exist. Its subject matter of cavorting mermen and other mythical creatures is directly related to the slip painted imagery on many of Mayodon's ceramics.
