Walter Magnussen
Born in Hamburg, Walter Magnussen worked c1900 in Munich where he modeled complex organic shapes in stoneware with sombre brown glazes. His work later became more austere in shape with linear patterns of figures, animals, and stylized foliage. These pieces were decorated with flowing glazes, flambés, and crystalline effects.
