Description

Grittel's hand-built urn is exceptional in its spontaneity, a quality that late-19th century French ceramists associated with Japanese pottery. Irregularly shaped in all dimensions, this piece has the added appeal of a folding body that seems to collapse of its own weight. In contrast, the high looped handles suggest wings that seem to counteract the pull of gravity. 4343
