Description

An earthenware vase designed by Ernest Bussiére and executed by Keller et Guérin, Luneville, France, circa 1903. This model, known as the orchid vase, is decorated with a low-fired metallic iridescent glaze. Made of a very fine earthenware (faience fine or terre de pipe), Bussiere's ceramics represent one of the crowning achievements of the Nancy School (L'Ecole de Nancy).
