This porcelain vase is beautifully restrained in its form and in the application of yellow and clear glazes and stylized floral ornamentation. The form was designed by Alexander Sandier, artistic director of Sèvres from the 1890s to 1908. Under his direction the company developed a line of shapes named after French cities. This example is similar to the Vase Dijon, which was exhibited at the Exposition Universeele 1900. It is identical in form and similar in decoration to two vases exhibited at La Societe des Artsites Francaise in 1905. Marks: stamped manufacturer's marks, 1903.
