Description

Stunning in its modernism, the beauty of this vase stems from its perfect proportions, everted lip, flattened ogee string course (a feature that reappears on Sèvres's Art Deco pottery), and a pure white glaze. How shocking this must have been in 1905, when hold-over items rife with Victorian ornamentation still cluttered most homes. The vase's wide neck and subdued appearance make it a perfect receptacle for a bouquet of colorful flowers. Marks: S 1905 in triangle stamped on base.
