This beautifully hand-painted vase with pre-Raphaellite iconography shows a princess and witch, each portrayed in profile with flowing hair and delicate lips. The ladies stand before a bed of yellow, pink and white flowers. Much of Chini's work was influenced by paintings from the Pre-Raphaelite movement. This unique, simple-shaped piece constitutes one of several example of Chini's own reinterpretation of that artistic style.
