Description

This allegorical vase is beautifully hand-painted with a princess and witch, each portrayed in classic Art Nouveau maiden style, in profile, with finely executed, flowing hair and delicate lips. The ladies are posed amongst a bed of yellow and pink roses. Much of Chini's work was influenced by paintings of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.
