The elongated bodies of these pitchers, their curvaceous handles, and foliate lips relate them to the Art Nouveau period, as does the foliate design on the left example. Despite these features, the forms are remarkably abstract and rich copper-red glazes constitute the primary decoration. The letters "AC" indicate that the pitchers were marketed at Decoeur's Paris atelier-gallery L'Art Céramique.
