This ovoid vase, though having a rather typical silhouette, is patterned with the repeated sculptural motif of flowers or lily pads. The stems of this vegetal pattern stream together along one side of the vase’s body, overlapping and intertwining to create interesting areas of empty negative space. The entirety of the vase’s body is glazed in a bright, uniform white, focusing the viewers attention on the sculptural quality of the work’s only decoration.

Marks: Incised signature "Michel Cazin, Equihen, 1906".
