Description

With leafy swirls and drips of matte orange glaze appearing to expand as they move from neck to waist, the decor of this handsome vase responds sensitively to its double gourd form. Decoration resulting from the natural qualities of materials and methods was an important principle of early modern design. It is well represented in Rumèbe's vase.
