Description

An earthenware vase, the form designed by Sandor Apati Abt, the decoration most likely by Lajos Mack. The body elegantly integrates two sets of twisting tentacle handles, one set extending from the neck to the waist, while the second set branches out and merges with the first, forming a complex, integrated series of loops. The shoulder is decorated with a pattern of a parallel striations, the lip is delicately fluted. Decorated with eosin glazes in gold/bronze, and marbleized areas of sapphire blue and acid green.
