This fine vase displays hallmarks of high art nouveau style: sinuous branches form fanciful chestnuts around the bulbous neck before sliding down the shoulder to culminate in naturalistically depicted foliage. Beautiful shades of chocolate brown on the whiplash decoration contrast nicely with the body’s greenish-blue hue, suggestive of sky behind the tree.

Marks: Maker's mark and factory mark to base.
