Description

This graceful pair of vases, immediately recognizable as icons of the Jugendstil era, exist in a variety of spectacular glazes in several prestigious museums, including the Musée D'Orsay in Paris. In this pair, each vase features a high gloss glaze that gradually metamorphoses from jade green to dark pink and is set like a jewel in a vegetal metal mount. Glittering in a gaslit interior, Eckmann's vases would have enlivened the atmosphere of a luxurious European parlor. Priced individually. Marks: artist's cipher impressed on mount.
