While the allover distribution of the flower pattern on this vase reflects the influence of eastern ceramic traditions on its design, the iridescent glaze is a novelty at the turn of the century. Chrysanthemums in changing hues of purple, blue and green twine on a fiery background, lit up by the glowing effect of little golden yellow dots on copper foundation.
