Description

The rough execution of this small pitcher's rim and handles indicate that Lachenal hand-modeled them. Decorated with an unevenly applied white glaze, the vessel lacks the polish of Lachenal's production pieces. Its interest lies in the master ceramist's forceful and confident manipulation of the clay. Marks: Lachenal ; 16.129 [painted]
