Description

The spirit of celebration suffuses this flamboyant vase, whose decoration could be interpreted as fireworks on a mid-summer’s eve. the luster glaze and five-pointed stars link it to the Islamic tradition. Lucien Lévy-Dhurmer made an unforgettable impact on France’s ceramics revolution. Working with Clément Massier, he designed innovative shapes and pioneered the painting and etching of luster glazes to bring about fantastically complex effects.
