An extremely fine example of Meier's early works, this cylindrical column made in the 1940s applies itself to the Japonist style in its use of a melting motif. The top portion, a greenish grey, slowly flows onto a darker bottom portion; the top of the column and the vase’s mouth introduce a new, gentle red glaze.
