A rare earthenware vase by Galileo Chini. Decorated with hand painted irises in shades of lilac and mint green against a mottled copper-brown ground, covered with a subtly iridescent glaze. Made at Chini's second company, Fornaci S. Lorenzo, near Mugello, Italy. A superb example of "Stile Floreale" or "Liberty Style", Italy's version of Art Nouveau. Marks: Mugello, 2126
