Predominantly green with marbling of black, brown, blue and gray, this flask-shaped vase appears to have been carved from a rare piece of jade. The two small loop handles connecting the rim to the shoulder are Art Nouveau era features that also hark back to Chinese wares of an earlier period. Simmen exhibited a piece of the same form but with floral ornamentation at the Paris Salon d'Automne, 1911. Marks: H Simmen painted on the base.
