Emile Belet for Sèvres. Although small in size, this vase is distinguished by a scene that depicts the majesty of nature. A great bird, its golden wings aflutter, appears to have just landed on a high branch of pine tree. The bird's features are carefully delineated, as are the elements of the pine cones, while the clusters of needles and the branches are somewhat stylized. Applications of glaze have produced the appearance of clouds in the sky. Marks: painted artist's initials 09 / stamped manufacturer's cipher / RF Manufacture Décoré a Sèvres, 1909.
