This form of this elegant vase suggests two simple leaves emerging from the interior and reaching downward to embrace the body. Two arched stems form symmetrical loop handles. Shaping provides ridges and depressions that aided in the flowing and pooling of the glaze. Crystals of white, gray, blue and garnet appear on the surface, giving the objet d'art a precious, gem-like appearance. Sèvres pioneered the controlled use of crystalline glazes in the late nineteenth century. Marks: S 1900 in triangle stamped on base.
