Description

No two Dalpayrat vases are the same, even when they're part of a pair. Although both of these examples are tri-lobed and glazed in rouge Dalpayrat (Dalpayrat red), the balance of verdigris and oxblood varies markedly from one to another. The spontaneous marbling and mixing of colors seen here takes place in the kiln, where varying percentages of oxygen react with the copper glaze to produce such effects. Marks: painted artist's name.
