Exquisitely proportioned, this tall baluster-shaped vase features one of Dachsel's most memorable decors, a frieze of stylized trees in low relief. The superbly realized matte green glaze, dusted with white highlights, suggests a wintry forest scene. Gilding on the neck and tree branches reinforces the overall feeling of japonisme, as does the copper foot ring with its stylized cloud motif. This example appears to be a special edition of model 1067, with décor number 06-07, both of which were introduced in 1906 at Dachsel’s firm. Marks: stamped manufacturer's mark.
