This long-necked vessel with a globular body is as infused with life as the flowering bulbs to which it seems to allude. With no area devoid of the physical characteristics and chemical action of clay, glaze, and fire, this vase suggests the process of natural growth and change without resorting to direct imitation. Craco, in his artistic maturity, demonstrates a grasp of the elements of Japanese design rather than a slavish reproduction of Japanese decorative elements.
