Description
A graceful form with stylized floral decoration, this Arabia vase is well-integrated in form, function, and decoration. The bud-like crowning feature is a three-dimensional realization of the two-dimensional blooms that envelop the vase, a vessel meant to hold flowers. The decorations, of Finno-Ugric origin, were employed as an expression of Finnish nationalism.
