Description

This vase is a rare example of collaboration of the Zsolnay factory with Friedrich Adler, a German designer who is best remembered for his metal work. Perfectly integrated as a multi-media design, its undulating luster-glazed body seems to swell, gently testing the limits of a bold network of bronze. The outcome is a beautifully crafted object that is also an abstraction of the process of growth and change. As such, this vase represents the goal of all designers of the era: the perfect union of art and craft in a functional object. Marks: raised Five Steeple Zsolnay Pecs, stamped 7024, 36, 26; engraved on bronze, Urion 277
