
Modernist blue crystals on a dappled peach background form the setting for six sculptural rosettes based upon classical European precedents. The combination of modernism and classicism on one vessel was a specialty of both Diffloth and his friend Taxile Doat, both of whom had worked at Sèvres and University City.
