From molten gold to ruby red, from bold bubbles and blisters to delicate etching, lucien lévy-Dhurmer and Clément Massier applied all their magic when conjuring up this spectacular piece of art pottery. While luster-glazing is evidence of Islamic influence, the irregularly shaped form combined with an abstract glaze application links this piece to Japonisme.
