Description

The simple form and restrained decoration of this vase situate it within the genre of stoneware Lachenal created in emulation of Far Eastern prototypes. The copper-red area near the base indicates a high-temperature reduction firing, whereas the green and blue floral decoration surrounding the long neck was accomplished using low-fired enamels. Marks: painted Lachenal ; 120-129
