Description

Carefully controlled glazes gradually blending from biege, to aventurine red, to chocolate brown flow from the mouth to the foot of this vase, a fine example of Japonist pottery by Auguste Delaherche. Toward the base, the glaze creates a series of drips that suggest an arcade, with mat-glazed earthenware visible beneath the arches. Marks: stamped artist's name, 7.
